Cleaned and Fixed with Mold Removed, New Insulation and Vapor Barrier Added

Crawl Space Mold Remediation and Insulation Upgrade, Bellevue, WA

The residents of this home requested a general quote for crawl space insulation and cleanup. During our inspection, we discovered that 225 square feet of the crawl space had mold along the crawl space floor, as well as damaged batt insulation and a compromised vapor barrier.
Damaged Insulation and Vapor Barrier Ruined by Mold

Day 1: The crew began by removing the damaged fiberglass insulation, duct wrap, and vapor barrier from the affected area. Fans were then set up in the crawl space to promote airflow and moisture removal, allowing the area to dry thoroughly.

Day 2: The advanced mold remediation process began with the application of a fungicide solution to the affected wood, killing the mold on contact. This was followed by a second application and scrubbing to ensure all remaining mold spores were eliminated. Finally, a Kilz primer was applied to seal the wood and prevent future mold growth.

Day 3: Once the mold remediation was complete, the crew returned to the affected area to install new batt insulation, wrap the air duct with rigid insulation, and lay down a new vapor barrier.

Thanks to our comprehensive inspection and remediation process, the residents can now be rest assured that their crawl space is clean, mold-free, and contributing to a healthier home environment.
