Renovating your home can cost a lot of money. In fact, homeowners spent $463 billion on renovations in the first quarter of 2024, according to according to reports from the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University (JCHS) Leading Indicator of Remodeling Activity (LIRA). Many homeowners also exceed their home renovation budgets. But you don’t have to! You can save big on your next weatherization project with rebates and tax credits, whether that be in the crawl space or attic.
PSE Rebates
One of the most popular rebate programs in Washington state is the Puget Sound Energy (PSE) Instant Rebates. PSE serves over 700,000 customers a combination of electricity and/or gas in ten western Washington counties. PSE offers generous rebates to customers who insulate their homes. This year, PSE announced increased rebate levels allowing homeowners to significantly offset the cost of insulation upgrades. Northwest Crawl Space Services is a contractor who is endorsed by Puget Sound Energy (PSE) as a Recommended Energy Professional (REP), so we can help you maximize savings!
However, to be eligible for our weatherization services and associated rebates, you need to meet the following requirements:
- PSE Customer: You must currently be a residential customer of Puget Sound Energy (PSE) for either electric or natural gas services, and PSE electricity or natural gas must serve as the primary source of heating for your home.
- Residential Property: You must inhabit a single-family home consisting of four units or fewer.
- Home Age Requirement: For ventilation, prescriptive air sealing, insulation (attic, floor, and/or wall), and combined prescriptive duct sealing and insulation incentives in site-built homes, the home must have been permitted or built before 1990. For the duct sealing only incentive, the site-built home must have been permitted and built before 2001. Note that this cannot be combined with other duct sealing rebates.
- Rebate Limitations: The total rebate amount, including any applicable bundle bonuses, cannot exceed the pre-tax price of the rebate product. The existing insulation in your home must be rated R11 or less. Your house should not have previously received a PSE rebate for the same item.
Our team includes PSE-certified professionals who will efficiently handle the rebate process for you. By partnering with us, you can enjoy the convenience of having the rebate amount instantly deducted from your invoice, resulting in reduced out-of-pocket costs for your weatherization project. You can save up to 95% off your weatherization project with a PSE rebate while lowering your energy bills. To learn more, visit our PSE rebate page.
